Since 2013, World Transport Overseas is a member of the largest voluntary corporate responsibility initiative in the world with over 12,000 corporate participants and other stakeholders from over 145 countries — the United Nations Global Compact.
The Global Compact is a platform for knowledge exchange and dialogue with the active participation and support from companies, UN organisations, business associations, NGOs and trade unions to promote social responsibility and ethical business standards. Through its commitment to generally accepted values, WTO minimises the negative impacts of its business operations and contributes to making globalisation a positive force.
The Ten Principles
Human Rights
Businesses should support and respect the protection of internationally proclaimed human rights.
To make sure that they are not complicit in human rights abuses.
Labour
Businesses should uphold the freedom of association and the effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining.
The elimination of all forms of forced and compulsory labour.
The effective abolition of child labour.
The elimination of discrimination in respect of employment and occupation.
Environment
Businesses should support a precautionary approach to environmental challenges.
To undertake initiatives to promote greater environmental responsibility.
To encourage the development and diffusion of environmentally friendly technologies.
Anti-Corruption
Businesses should work against corruption in all its forms, including extortion and bribery.

World Transport Overseas maintains a strict Anti-Corruption and Anti-Bribery Policy in line with Principle 10 of the UN Global Compact. All employees, partners, and agents are expected to uphold the highest standards of integrity in all business dealings.
